How much does mms blogs cost?
Using the service and managing your personal mobile blog is FREE.
Only charges for sending MMS messages apply. These are the standard charges of your mobile
network operator for sending MMS messages
to a - currently - German mobile phone number
in the Vodafone, T-Mobile or E-Plus network.
Please, note that this price might be different from locally
sending a MMS.
Derdack is working on additional network coverage,
e.g. by introducing additional
mms blogs
target phone numbers.
How can I create my personal mms blog account?
You can subscribe to mms blogs using the
Subscription Wizard.
Beside username and password you need to provide your mobile phone number and your
e-mail
address there. In step 2 you set up your personal mms blog.
How many blogs can I create?
Each user can currently setup one blog. Future releases will come with
features like multiple blogs
or multiple mobile phone numbers for each user.
Can I submit entries by e-mail?
Not yet. Submitting entries by e-mail will be possible in future releases, however.
Can I submit entries by SMS?
Yes. You can also submit text-only entries to your blog via SMS.
How much memory is available for each blog?
Each user is provided with 5 MB blog space. The free blog
space is displayed in
"Manage blog".
Once you reach the blog size limit, you either have to delete entries or contact
Derdack for more memory.
When will my blog appear on the start page?
Once you have blogged at least one entry, your blog will appear on the start page.
Blogs with new entries
will automatically move on top of the blog list. As long as your blog is empty,
your name can only be found
with the
Search
function.
How can I check if my entry was successfully submitted?
We basically distinguish between different user groups. As a premium user you will receive an
SMS confirmation after your new entry was successfully added to your blog.
What kind of portrait photo can I upload?
You can upload JPEG images.We recommend an image format of 105x70. Larger
images will automatically
be adjusted to this size.
Which mobile phones are compatible with mms blog?
Every mobile phone that supports MMS or SMS can be used with mms blog.

Can I use mms blogs outside Germany?
The service is hosted in Germany. If you want to use mms blog outside Germany,
you have to
activate
International Roaming. Contact your mobile operator who will also provide
you with information on the
respective roaming agreement.
If you want to send messages with a non-german SIM card, ask your network operator
if
there is a
roaming
agreements with 'Vodafone-Germany'.
What kind of media can I submit?
Anything you want. You can submit images (JPG and GIF), movie clips (3GP) and audio files (AMR).
Which browser-plugin is needed for playing audio and video content?
You will need QuickTime from Apple. You can download the plugin
here.

| Before submitting blog entries, please make sure that your network operator has roaming agreemtens with Vodafone Germany, which is the only operator Derdack is using mms-blogs with so far. If you are an Orange UK subscriber, mms-blogs is for instance, not reachable. |
